Is Admitting to alcoholism a sign of weakness or strength?

If a woman has an alcohol problem and admits she has an alcohol problem but does nothing about her problem; the woman is weak. If a woman admits she has an alcohol problem and is getting treatment, then this is an act of a strong person. Alcoholism can be a disease of genetics or caused by environmental factors. What ever the reason to bring a person to continually indulge in drinking alcohol is not healthy. A person could die of alcohol poisoning. I would hope that a person would get help and stop over indulging in drinking alcohol. The over indulgence of drinking alcohol is no way to stop thinking about a personal problem or to use alcohol as a way out. A woman that admits she is an alcoholic, gets treatment, stays in treatment, and stops over indulging in the use of drinking alcohol is a strong willed person.

Yes I agree with you. If a person admits that she has an alcohol problem and does nothing that is a sign of weakness. Once a person admits then that shows that they have some strength and they should take care of their issue. They should find some type of resource to help their issue.

Cassy,
A woman that has an alcohol problem and admits she has an alcohol problem but does nothing about her problem, has addressed the issue which is a sign of strength and is a big part of the battle against her problem. Admitting that one has a problem is a big step because most people either don't believe they have a problem or their ashamed of it. If a woman admits she has an alcohol problem and is getting treatment, this is also a sign of strength. Seeking assistance through treatment is not easy for an alcoholic, because of the dependence and withdrawal effects of the disease. And alcoholism is in fact a disease, and most diseases require time and patience; Time from the beginning of admittance to the complete recovery. There are many dangers in alcoholism, and one that is knowledgeable about personal genetic and environmental factors should beware and take caution when consuming an alcoholic beverage.
